Booking choice: The half-day two-winery tasting, from $62 per person. Check dates Tour details
Every tour on this site leaves Florence (or Siena) with the driving done for you, and every one pours Chianti. The from-prices still run from $51 to $487 per person. Three things move the price: how many people share the vehicle, whether a real lunch is included, and how many wineries you visit.
The figures below are the USD from-prices on the booking pages, checked on 28 October 2026. They move with the season and the exchange rate. Winery prices are in euros, from the estates' own sites.
The quick answer
Group half days with two wineries cost $56 to $62, and the e-bike day with a winery lunch is the cheapest at $51. Most days with a proper lunch run $118 to $237, and small groups of eight cost $170. A private car is $487 per person and can't be refunded. Booking a tasting direct costs EUR 30 to EUR 70 at Antinori, but you still need to get there.

How much does a Chianti wine tour cost in 2026?
From $51 to $487 per person. Most travellers pay $56 to $74 for a group half day, or about $120 for a day with lunch.
Every tour here, cheapest first. The last column is what most people actually compare: how much wine and food sits on the table.

| E-bike day | $51 | 6 hours | 1 winery plus a second tasting | Winery lunch |

| Two-winery half day | $62 | 5.5 hours | 2 wineries, 3 to 4 wines each | Cheese, salami, bruschetta |
| Siena and San Gimignano day | $74 | 10.5 hours | 1 winery, 2 to 3 wines | Snacks; lunch extra |
| Vespa tour | $118 | 6.5 hours | 1 winery with wine and oil | 3-course meal |

| Small-group Classico half day | $170 | 5 hours | 2 wineries, up to 7 wines | Snacks |
| Vintage Fiat 500 day | $170 | 7 hours | 2 tastings | Lunch |

Two family wineries, three or four wines at each and a board of local food, for about the price of dinner in Florence.
Check dates for the half-day two-winery tastingWhat does a Chianti wine tasting include?
Usually three or four wines per winery, a short walk through the vineyard or cellar, and bread, cheese, salami and olive oil. Lunch only when the listing says so.
A standard cellar-door tasting in Chianti is a seated flight: often a rosé or white to start, then Chianti Classico, a Riserva and sometimes an IGT red or Vin Santo. Pours are tasting size, not full glasses. Olive oil on bread is almost always part of it, because most estates press their own.
The Gray Line half day starts with a welcome glass of white or rosé, then three or four organic wines at each of two wineries with cheese, cured meats and bruschetta. The small-group Classico half day pours up to seven wines across two estates. The Siena and San Gimignano day pours two or three at a single winery, which is why we file it under sightseeing.

How many wines do you actually taste on a Chianti tour?
Between two and about ten. Two-winery tours pour six to eight; one-winery days pour two or three; the olive oil trail visits three estates.
Pour counts from the listings, side by side with the price:
| Tour | From | Wines poured | Price per winery |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two-winery half day | $62 | 6 to 8, plus a welcome glass | $31 |
| Small-group Classico | $170 | Up to 7 | $85 |
| Wine and olive oil trail | $122 | 3 tastings plus lunch wine | About $41 |
| Siena and San Gimignano day | $74 | 2 to 3 | $74 for one winery |
| Half day from Siena | $56 | 2 tastings | $28 |
More pours do not always mean a better day. Guests on the big coach tours often rate the two wineries unevenly; one wrote of a later stop where the host kept pouring for anyone who answered his trivia questions. On the eight-seat tours you get more time with the person who made the wine.
Is it cheaper to book a tasting directly with a winery?
The tasting itself, often yes: EUR 30 buys four wines at Antinori. But you still need a driver, and the tour price includes the transport.
What the estates charge when you book with them:
| Winery | Where | What you get | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Antinori nel Chianti Classico | Bargino, San Casciano | Tuscan Stories: 4 wines, about 45 min, no cellar tour, 18+ | EUR 30 |
| Antinori nel Chianti Classico | Bargino, San Casciano | Bottaia Tour: about 2 hours, 4 wines incl. Badia a Passignano Gran Selezione | EUR 70 |
| Badia a Coltibuono | Gaiole in Chianti | From a short tour with 2 wines up to a tour with lunch | Prices on the booking page |
| Le Cantine di Greve | Greve in Chianti | Self-service pours from a prepaid card, 100+ wines open | Pay per pour |
| Brogioni winery | Greve in Chianti | Cellar, vineyard walk, tasting with snacks, 1.5 hours | $57 online |
Antinori's tastings are non-refundable and the estate is about 25 km from Florence, with poor public transport. Add a return taxi and two people pay more than on the two-winery half day. Direct booking wins if you are already staying in the hills, or if one famous estate is the point of the trip. Getting there is covered in Chianti without a car.
Why do small-group Chianti tours cost three times more?
Because eight people share the vehicle and the guide instead of about fifty. You pay for the seat, not for better wine.
The Gray Line coach takes up to 50 guests; the Classico half day uses an eight-seat minivan and needs at least three people to run. The semi-private day also caps a Mercedes van at eight and adds hotel pickup in Florence's central zone, a long lunch at the winery and time in San Gimignano.
At the top sits the private tour at $487 per person: your own driver-guide, Ottomani near Strada in Chianti, Fattoria di Luiano and lunch. It is the only option here with no refund if you cancel, so book it only with fixed dates.

Two Chianti Classico estates, up to seven wines and olive oil, with eight people in the van at most.
Explore the small-group Classico half day Tour detailsWhich Chianti wine tours include lunch?
The e-bike day, the Vespa tour, the olive oil trail, the vintage Fiat day, the semi-private day and the private tour. The cheap coach tours serve snacks only.
A seated lunch is the single biggest price step. On the e-bike day it is a winery lunch of cold cuts, crostini, pasta and dessert, for $51 all in: the best value on the site if you are happy on a bike. The olive oil trail serves three courses after three wineries and an oil mill. The Vespa tour ends at a farm or castle with a three-course meal.
On the Siena and San Gimignano day lunch is extra; you eat in Siena on your own. On the two-winery half day, eat first. One guest put it plainly: "Both had some snacks at the venues, but would eat lunch or dinner b[...]" Take the hint and have lunch before the coach leaves.

The lowest price with a real lunch: e-bike through the hills, eat at the winery, taste twice.
Check dates for the Chianti e-bike tourWhat extra costs should you budget for?
Bottles you buy, shipping, tips, Siena cathedral tickets on the town tour, and a damage deposit on the Vespa and e-bike days.
- Wine to take home: every winery has a shop, and the tour stops are built around it. Nobody has to buy.
- Shipping: most estates ship abroad. A Gray Line guest wrote: "Both shipped to the US and you could buy another glass while you walked around the site." Ask the per-case shipping price before you pick bottles. Flying home, wine goes in checked luggage; US travellers can bring 1 litre duty-free and more with duty, per US Customs.
- Siena cathedral: about EUR 7 on the full day; tickets on operaduomo.siena.it.
- Vehicle cover: the Vespa tour asks EUR 20 non-refundable insurance or a EUR 500 card hold; the e-bike day EUR 20 or a EUR 200 card hold. Card only, no cash.
- Tips: not expected in Italy. If the guide made the day, a few euros each is plenty.
When are Chianti tours cheapest, and is the $53 sale worth it?
Prices hold fairly steady all year; the real savings are short sales. The Gray Line half day dropped from $62 to $53 until 31 October 2026.
From-prices on the booking pages move a few dollars with the exchange rate and demand. Sales like the $53 Gray Line offer appear for a few weeks, often at the end of the season. Every tour except the private one cancels for a full refund up to 24 hours before, so booking early at a sale price costs you nothing if plans change.
Winter is not much cheaper, and days are shorter: an October guest on the afternoon half day said it "got dark quickly". Timing is covered in the best time for a Chianti tour, and the winter season in the 2026-27 winter post.
Book the date at today's price and keep it flexible: free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
