I Just Drive · Florence
A driver-guide collects you from your Florence hotel in a Mercedes van of eight seats at most, gets you into San Gimignano before the coaches, then takes you to two wine estates for lunch and a tasting. It's the trip people pick when they want a full day with wine at the centre and no big group.

Nearly 240 reviews and a 4.9 rating, and most of them name the driver. The day starts at 8:00 with a short stop at Piazzale Michelangelo, then about an hour's drive to San Gimignano. Arriving that early matters: guests say they had the streets before the coach groups. You get roughly an hour and a half, enough for the towers and a gelato.
Then the wine. The listing's next stop is a farm estate in the San Casciano countryside for two and a half hours: a cellar visit, a tasting and a long Tuscan lunch paired with its wines, cured meats and olive oil. The last stop is San Michele a Torri, an organic family estate near Scandicci, for a shorter tasting. Estates change with the season; one featured review describes lunch at Castello di Monterinaldi near Radda instead. San Casciano lies partly inside the Chianti Classico zone. San Michele a Torri is in the Colli Fiorentini, outside it.
At $237 per person it's more than three times the coach tours. What you pay for is the group size, the hotel pickup and a sit-down meal. If only two or three people book your date, you get it near-private, and several guests did. A March 2026 reviewer thought it overpriced and found the lunch "just okay", so it isn't flawless. If you want only Classico estates and your own car, compare the private tour from Greve.
From your hotel if it's inside ZTL Area A, otherwise Hotel Davanzati (Via Porta Rossa 5) at 7:50 or Hotel Boccaccio (Via della Scala 59) at 8:00. Be there 15 minutes early.

Cellar visit, tasting and a Tuscan lunch paired with the estate's wines, cheese, salami and olive oil.
A family-run organic estate for a second tasting.
Drop-off at your hotel or the meeting point, about 8.5 hours after the start.
★★★★★The early start allowed us to explore San Gimignano prior to it being packed with crowds. The two wineries we visited were excellent, and provided generous tastings of wine, olive oil, and other locally produced goods. The lunch was excellent, and was able to cater vegetarian with ease.
★★★★★Our time in San Gimignano was perfect, lunch at the winery was exceptional and our final stop at an organic winery in the Chianti region was superb! The wines were spectacular. It was a well paced day and Marco made it even better.
★★★★★We got lucky and were the only people on our tour that day, so we got a private tour around Tuscany for a great bargain. Even if you aren’t the only ones, the van is plenty big, has great air conditioning, and the places you go are very exciting!

Yes, for hotels inside Area A of Florence's limited traffic zone. Apartments, B&Bs and hotels outside it use the meeting points at Hotel Boccaccio (8:00) or Hotel Davanzati (7:50), or pay the driver for door-to-door pickup.
Eight at most, in one Mercedes van. On quiet dates guests report being the only couple booked, which turns it into a private day.
The listing names stops at San Casciano in Val di Pesa (lunch, about 2.5 hours) and San Michele a Torri (about 45 minutes). The exact estates change; reviewers have named Castello di Monterinaldi, and others describe an organic winery for the last stop.
Yes. A Tuscan lunch at the first estate, paired with its wines, is in the price, along with bottled water and a bottle of prosecco for the group.
