Azienda Agricola Brogioni Maurizio · Greve in Chianti
Maurizio Brogioni walks you round his small organic estate above Greve in Chianti, then pours his Chianti Classico at a table with cheese and salami. Book it if you're already in the hills, or don't mind the bus: it's the most personal tasting on this site.

This isn't a tour from Florence: it's the winery itself, and you get there on your own. Brogioni is a family estate in the Greve commune, near the hamlet of Montefioralle, at the core of the Chianti Classico zone. Maurizio, whose family has grown grapes here for generations, makes Chianti Classico and a Gran Selezione called San Rocco. Guests mention his "office": a bench above the vineyard and olive grove with a view down the valley.
The visit lasts about an hour and a half, sometimes two. You see the small cellar, hear how the wine and the oil are made, then taste about four wines with cheese, cured meats and olive oil. At $57 it costs more than paying by the glass at Le Cantine di Greve, but you get the owner. Some guests wanted more: a 2023 reviewer felt rushed and left alone between pours, and a French visitor found the cellar tour short. On a busy day you may share the table with another group.
Getting there: bus 365 runs from Florence to Greve in about an hour, and the winery sits on the hill road out of the village, so plan a taxi from the square or ask the family. A 2017 guest was collected at the petrol station. Driving? Italy's limit is 0.5 g/l, and four pours will put most people close to it. If you'd rather be driven between estates, the private tour or the small-group Classico half day start in Florence.
The booking gives a date; a 2024 guest had to contact the winery for the hour. Do it straight away.
On the hill above Greve. Allow time to find it: a guest in 2022 lost an hour.

★★★★★He “took us to his office” (see pics) & gave great insight into not only the winemaking process, but also the olive oil making process and the many stages the olives can get processed. Perfect tasting after the tour paired with some cheeses & meats.
★★★★★It was a memorable experience! We loved the place, the story, the snacks and of course, the wines. As for Mauricio, the owner of the vineyard, he’s a living legend.
★★★★★This was a wonderful experience. The tour and tasting were personal and fun. Be sure to make an appointment. We highly recommend.
